As a Senior Designer at New Practice, I served as the lead designer for two prominent interior spaces within Barclays’ new Glasgow waterfront campus. I was responsible for designing a bespoke bike and repair shop, as well as a luxury rooftop bar catering to an exclusive clientele.
Bike Shop
As part of the broader strategy for the new Barclays campus, the client aimed to promote active travel as a central theme. At the heart of this initiative is the bespoke bike shop, which will be operated by a local business. One third of the space is dedicated to a maintenance station, while the remaining area is allocated for retail, ensuring a well-rounded experience for customers.

The design is bold and impactful, contrasting with the dark and robust nature of bicycles. The juxtaposition of rough concrete blocks with colourful elements elevates the space, transforming it into both a place to shop and a space to wait for bike maintenance.

Rooftop Bar
The second space I designed is a luxury rooftop bar, intended to host VIP clients and employee events. The client envisioned a space that would set itself apart from the rest of Barclays' campus, showcasing the grandeur of both the project and the company. This bar is designed to offer an eclectic and chic atmosphere, ideal for entertaining high-profile clients.
To achieve this, I combined traditional materials and textures with bespoke furniture pieces, including planters, banquette seating, and a custom reception desk. This approach ensured that the space was not only elegant but also uniquely tailored to its location.
